Going through old boxes. I remember when I was first on my own feeling safe was so important and boundaries were foreign. I knew I wanted a home that felt safe not only to me but to everyone that entered. No yelling, no belittling, no abusive words whispered, no to go bag hidden just in case. I was literally terrified when I made these rules. I remember crying and shaking when I put them up it felt impossible to actually live in a home that felt safe and loving.
